Journeys of German-Internee Families During WWII

Updated: May 13, 2022

Created By Joshua Pridemore

This is an interactive map that traces the steps of internee families during WWII. Because of their German heritage, they were stripped from their homes and forced on their own different journeys across the world. Travel Terminology 1. Relocate/Relocates - Family chose to move somewhere. 2. Relocated - Forced to move somewhere for an extended period of time 3. Transported - Forced to pass through a city, but not for an extended period of time.

Joshua, great job! I really appreciate that you made so palpable the moments when families are separated. It helps underscore the fear and loss.
